At The Rylands, our experienced and dedicated care team are well led by a team of nurses and nursing assistants who are able to offer the best of personal and nursing care. Each resident has their own individually written care plan, personalised and tailored to their needs. Our âperson centredâ approach to care is essential to providing a service of a very high quality.
We have a dedicated activities coordinator who organises group activities, music and entertainment, as well as individual time with residents, ensuring that their days are varied and interesting. Gathering information from residents and families regarding favourite music, hobbies and interests ensures that our activity programme for each resident can be âtailor madeâ.
At The Rylands we provide fresh, home cooked meals which are planned and prepared to offer a nutritional, well-balanced variety to suit all appetites, modified diets and personal preferences. Our experienced cooks offer a selection of refreshments and snacks throughout the day including fresh fruit platters, freshly baked cakes and pastries.
We pride ourselves on making visitors, guests and clients feel welcome and offer two large communal lounges, conservatory, dining room and landscaped garden spaces. The home has a large car park and lift accessibility.

“Mum was admitted to The Rylands after a fall and unable to return home. I was very worried as we had a bad experience with my mother-in-law and care homes. The health and safety of residents and all staff is top priority here. The staff are very professional but also very friendly, in Mum’s words, they will do anything for you, nothing is too much trouble. They have special days, including dressing up and the staff join in with so many smiling faces. The entertainment is great, indoors and outside and enjoyed by all. The food is very good and varied including treat days. I cannot praise enough the care and safety of all residents during this Covid-19 pandemic and the lengths all staff have gone to, not only to keep residents safe but also happy and entertained. “I have been a regular visitor to The Rylands for over four years and in my time there staff always display compassion and kindness to residents while upholding their dignity and ensuring they feel safe and comfortable. Rylands offer the residents lots of stimulation and encourage participation, from visiting Llamas, potting plants as well as crafts and outdoor games. It is a stressful time for residents and their families when leaving, for most, their home of many years but I am always impressed at the care and reassurance given and the genuine interest in the residents needs to make the transition as smooth as possible. I have always found the staff helpful in what is a busy and demanding role and proactive in managing high standards.”
